Fixed text pane problems related to corrupted memory on the PC client ************************************************************* Razor Release 5.4.01 Notes ************************************************************* NOTE: The Razor server platform is now Linux 2.6.x and 3.10.x 64bit kernels. Razor is no longer being released for the Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, IRIX, Apple OS X and 32bit Linux platforms. Older releases are still supported on these platforms. The Razor client platforms are 64bit Linux and Windows 7/8/10. The Razor release will run on 2.6.x, 3.10.x and 4.x 64bit kernels. Razor is not available on the 32bit Linux platform. 1. Updated the Razor ID command for newer versions of Linux Now selects the first alphabetically listed network interface Also, provides feedback on how to select an alternate interface You can also define the RAZOR_IFACE environment variable prior to running 'razor id' 2. Vastly improved the Razor users' password features and complexity for improved security The Razor add_user command no longer requires all of the information on the command line - Correctly prompts for each required entry - User names must be between 4 and 16 characters long - Passwords must now be between 8 and 16 characters in length - Must contain at least 1 upper case, 1 number and 1 special character - Groups must be between 4 and 16 characters in length Razor passwd no longer hangs if the incorrect initial password is entered. You are allowed 3 tries and then the tool will exit. 3. Razor server is now fully 64 bit compatible on Linux platforms The 2.6.x, 3.10.x and 4.x kernels are supported on Redhat, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE, etc. Supports ext4 and XFS files systems greater than 2GB on 64 bit OS's Supports CentOS7 64 bit, ReadHat7 64 bit, CentOS6 and Redhat6 64 bit and the latest Ubuntu builds (i.e. 16.04 and 18.04) 4. Razor license manager now has a time out feature for inactive clients A new variable has been added to the license.conf file called CLIENT_TIMEOUT You can set this entry from 1 to 86400 seconds A setting between 1 and 300 defaults to 5 minutes Settings between 301 and 84600 are accurate to 10 seconds A setting of -1 (default) disables this feature (i.e. no client timeout) If CLIENT_TIMEOUT is not found then this feature will be disabled (i.e. works like prior versions of Razor) 5. Issue Weaver Updated the install path to default to the standard Apache install location Updated all copyright and email address on default headers and footers 6. RazorPC client Removed the 'save password' feature from the login screen to improve security. Installs the latest version of the GUIFFY diff/merge tool. Razor updates the registry entries for GUIFFY and Razor during the installation Razor now installs in 'C:\Program Files (x86)Visible Systems' by default NOTE: RazorPC install package consists of the two files RazorInstall.msi and setup.exe (run setup.exe to install RazorPC) NOTE: You must manually un-install previous versions of RazorPC using 'add or remove programs' 7. Razor License manager will not accept connections from earlier versions of clients. It will warn the razor administrator of the attempt and provide information on the server console to help track down the connection. The user will not be able to log in. 8. When moving to a 64bit version of Razor, the password file from a 32bit system will not work. You can use the $RAZOR_HOME/scripts/rz_readPasswordFile utility to convert the file. Please see the $RAZOR_HOME/README.PasswordFileUpdate file for more information. The user names and passwords maintained after the conversion.
