Version 4.1g of Razor is now available. Upgrades are free for users that have current maintenance. Upgrading is easy, keeps you current with our latest features and fixes, and makes our support staff happy. This release of Razor also includes support for native 64-bit IRIX 6.5 as well as RedHat Linux 6.x.
Our support staff would like the user community to stay current with Razor releases whenever possible. Remember that prior to upgrading you need to stop all database servers as well as the license manager. Once the upgrade is complete, restart the license manager and database servers. As always, please review the RELEASE_NOTES before upgrading.
From now until the end of year, any new or current customer who purchases 10 or more licenses of Razor and references this promotion, will receive their choice of one of the following:

Tower is committed to providing support for the most current versions of operating systems as well as providing back support for older versions. In an effort to provide the most up-to-date and responsive support to our customers as possible, it has become necessary to drop support for out-dated versions of some operating systems.
Effective with our next release, the lowest version of Solaris that will be supported on Sparc or Intel will be Solaris 2.6.
As of December 1, 1999, Tower will no longer support HPUX 9.x because HP has announced they do not plan to make it Y2K compliant.
As of this writing, the year 2000 is a little over 80 days away! Are you ready? Razor is, but is your underlying operating system? Be sure and check with your operating system vendor for required patches.
Tower's Y2K support position is that Razor will only be supported on platforms that are Y2K compliant. As mentioned above, HP has announced that it will not upgrade its HP 9.x operating systems to be Y2K compliant; thus Tower will be dropping support for HP 9.x.
For those who like to wait till the last minute (but we strongly encourage you to make plans now), Tower will be providing additional support coverage during the week before and after the new year. Support will be available for Y2K-related issues for Razor, as well as any other Razor support issues you might have. We will NOT be providing support on how to patch your particular operating system to make it Y2K-compliant - that's your job.
Lockheed Martin (LMCO) has recently extended their selection of Razor as the corporate CM and problem tracking standard for another three years. The original agreement signed in 1996 proved very successful for both companies. This new agreement reflects the confidence Lockheed Martin has in Razor for use in its mission- critical applications across the entire corporation.
