CBDM Course Delivery Options

Individual or Small Group Training

Self-study training of individuals or small groups is based on the PowerPoint version of the CBDM Course Series.

• PowerPoint delivery is designed so that each student has a personal copy of the courses and reference manuals for training and later reference, and a personal copy of the student edition of Visible Advantage.

• All PowerPoint courses are delivered electronically in Adobe Acrobat PDF format of Microsoft PowerPoint Instructor Notes so that they can be opened by the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

  • Download a free copy of Acrobat Reader from http://www.adobe.com/.

• All Reference Manuals are delivered electronically in Adobe Acrobat PDF format so that they can be opened by Adobe Acrobat Reader.

• The student edition of Visible Advantage is used by students to enter their case study workshop solution, for assessment to qualify as a Certified Business Data Modeler (CBDM).

• The student edition of Visible Advantage can later be used for small projects, to be merged into an enterprise encyclopedia using the enterprise edition of Visible Advantage.

Large Group Training Via Intranet

If you need to train 20 students or more, the courses and standard workshop can be supplied as an Intranet Web Site for Intranet access.

• Intranet-delivery is appropriate if 20 students or more are to be trained, or if a web browser is preferred rather than PowerPoint Instructor Notes in PDF.

• Intranet courses are delivered electronically as HTML and Image files in a directory, ready for installation on an Intranet web site for use by any number of students of the purchasing organization.

• All Reference Manuals are delivered electronically in Adobe Acrobat PDF format so that they can be opened by Adobe Acrobat Reader.

• Student edition copies of Visible Advantage can also be purchased for use by students to enter their case study workshop solutions, for assessment to qualify as a Certified Business Data Modeler (CBDM).

• If the purchasing organization already has the enterprise edition of Visible Advantage, this can be used instead by students to enter their case study workshop solutions.

• The student edition of Visible Advantage can later be used for small projects, to be merged into an enterprise encyclopedia using the enterprise edition of Visible Advantage.

Training for Internal Certification

• The case study that is used in the workshop for certification can be tailored to your own organization and business if preferred, and your Instructors and Help Desk staff can be trained to certify your students.

• The case study will be tailored by Clive Finkelstein, author of the CBDM courses and workshop.

• Please specify your industry and the focus for the tailored case study during your Registration below.

• A Teach the Teacher (TTT) inhouse workshop will be presented on your premises by Clive Finkelstein, to train your Instructors and Help Desk staff.

• Following this TTT training, your Instructors and Help Desk staff will then be qualified to certify your own students who are trained by Corporate Intranet delivery.

• Your Instructors and Help Desk staff will also be qualified to train students by Traditional Classroom presentation.

• A separate Quotation will be sent to you by email, detailing the cost to develop the tailored case study and conduct an inhouse workshop to train your Instructors and Help Desk staff.

License Agreement

Each course and the case study workshop are licensed for use by the specified number of students, with archival backup copies in support of your use of the courses and workshop. Copies must be licensed for use by each student, or for concurrent access on a network by a specified maximum number of students.

The License Agreement allows you to modify the course or merge it into another course for your own use by the specified number of students, or by the specified maximum number of students on a network. You can transfer the course to another party if that party agrees in writing with Information Engineering Services Pty Ltd to accept the terms and conditions of the License Agreement. As with any software, you are not allowed to copy or use the course by more than the specified number of students, or by more than the specified maximum number of students on a network, unless a separate license has been purchased for each of those additional students or for the additional specified maximum number of students on a network.

The License Agreement will be delivered to you via email, with a password and instructions for downloading the password-protected file that contains the compressed courses and workshop. When downloaded, this file will contain the courses and workshop in the format ordered, compressed by PKZIP. By downloading the file and using the password to unzip that file and extract the courses and workshop within it, you signify the acceptance of the Terms and Conditions of the License Agreement. If you do not agree with them, the downloaded file must be destroyed. Your money will be refunded in full on our receipt from you of a written email confirmation that all electronic, printed or other copies of the file and the courses and workshop extracted from within that file have been destroyed.

The CBDM Course Series can be registered and paid for online by credit card or Company Purchase Order. The PowerPoint Version is used if you have fewer than 20 students to train. The Intranet Version is cost-effective for training 20 students or more,. Optionally the Intranet Version can also be used for Internal Certification to certify your own students, with a case study tailored to your own organization.
